Las Vegas, NV – Nevadans for Affordable, Clean Energy Choices, the primary backer of Yes on 3, the Energy Choice Initiative, endorsed Question 6 today.
Question 6, supported by Nevadans for a Clean Energy Future, would raise Nevada’s renewable portfolio standard via constitutional amendment to 50% clean energy by 2030.
“The Energy Choice Initiative is about providing Nevadan’s clean energy at lower rates through competition and innovation. We’re proud to endorse Yes on Question 6 today as a part of our vision for Nevada’s energy future. The combination of a 50% clean energy standard along with energy choice will make Nevada a leader in clean energy investments and reducing carbon emissions”, said Scot Rutledge, spokesperson for Yes on 3 and former Executive Director of the Nevada Conservation League.
FIRST TO ENDORSE
Neither NV Energy or No on 3 has endorsed Question 6 or given any indication that they support an increased renewable portfolio standard. Yes on 3 is the first to endorse amongst these groups.

Question 3 is a ballot measure to provide Nevadans with options for cleaner, more affordable electricity and will create an opportunity for Nevada to lead the way on renewables, technology innovation, and consumer choice. The measure is expected to grow Nevada’s economy through clean technology job growth and innovative new businesses. Question 3 is backed by leading Nevada-based companies such as Switch, Sands, Tesla and MGM Resorts.
